Recipes
Capture from Apple Shortcuts, Android, email and a bookmarklet, and put your agenda in any calendar.
Small setups that get things into org from wherever you are, and your agenda out to wherever you look.
All of the API recipes need a personal access token. Create one in
Settings, Tokens and apps, give it only org:write if all it does is
add tasks, and treat it like a password. The examples use the org slug
daniel; use yours.
Apple Shortcuts
Add a task from your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch, by voice with Siri or from the share sheet.
- In the Shortcuts app, create a shortcut named Add to org.
- Add Ask for Input (Text), with the prompt "What needs doing?".
- Add Get Contents of URL, and set:
- URL:
https://aegent.dev/org/api/v1/orgs/daniel/capture - Method: POST
- Headers:
Authorizationset toBearer aeg_…(your token) - Request Body: JSON, with one field,
text, set to Provided Input
- URL:
- Add Show Notification with "Added to org".
Say "Hey Siri, add to org", then "Call the dentist on Friday at 10 #health".
The quick-add text understands dates, #tags, @owner, !A for priority
and ~30m for effort, as in the app.
To send a task with fields instead of quick-add text, post to
/orgs/daniel/tasks:
{ "title": "Renew passport", "deadline": "2026-11-30", "tags": ["admin"] }
Android
Install the app from Chrome (menu, then Install app). org then appears in the share sheet: share a web page, a note or text into it, and the capture box opens with it filled in.
For a home-screen button or a voice command, use HTTP Shortcuts (external) or Tasker:
- Method POST, URL
https://aegent.dev/org/api/v1/orgs/daniel/capture - Header
Authorization: Bearer aeg_… - Body type JSON:
{"text": "{input}"}, with a text prompt forinput
From a terminal, or Termux on Android, it's the same request:
curl https://aegent.dev/org/api/v1/orgs/daniel/capture \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $AEGENT_TOKEN" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: $(uuidgen)" \
-d '{"text": "Top up the gas meter tomorrow 8am #home"}'
Calendar feeds
Subscribe to your scheduled tasks, deadlines and appointments from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Thunderbird or Outlook.
- In Settings, Integrations, add a calendar feed. Give it a name, and a
query if you only want some things:
tag:work, orowner:@me -is:done. - Copy the feed URL. It's shown once, because it contains a secret token.
- In your calendar app, subscribe to it by URL.
The URL looks like https://aegent.dev/org/ics/7Hq2…Xk.ics. Scheduled
tasks appear at their time, for their effort or time range; deadlines are
all-day or timed events; repeating tasks repeat. Each event links back to
the task. Calendar apps poll on their own schedule, often hourly, so
changes take a while to show.
Anyone with the URL can read the feed, so delete it in settings if it leaks, and make a new one. Feeds are read-only: org doesn't sync from your calendar.
Email-in
Forward an email to org and it becomes a task.
- In Settings, Integrations, add an email-in address. Pick the space it files into, and optionally a capture template.
- You get an address like
[email protected]. Add it to your contacts as "org".
The subject becomes the task's title, the body its text, and attachments are attached. It works from any address, so keep it private; if it starts getting spam, turn it off and make another.
Bookmarklet
Save the page you're reading, with anything you've selected, in two clicks. Create a bookmark with this as its URL:
javascript: (() => {
const q = new URLSearchParams({
title: document.title,
url: location.href,
body: String(getSelection())
});
open('https://aegent.dev/org/capture?' + q, 'aegent-capture', 'width=560,height=480');
})();
Clicking it opens org's capture box in a small window, with the page title as the task and the link and selection underneath. You need to be signed in to org in that browser. Some sites block bookmarklets with their own security policy; the share sheet or the desktop hotkey work there.
